Attendance Tracking

Monitor service attendance and congregant engagement.

Attendance Tracking

Church Ledger makes it easy to track who is attending your services. High-quality attendance data helps you identify growth trends and reach out to members who may be drifting away.

The Attendance Workflow

Tracking attendance isn't just about counting heads; it's about identifying souls who need care.

Create the Event

Navigate to the Attendance page. Click Create Event. Choose your service type (e.g., "Sunday Morning", "Mid-week Prayer") and date.

Mark Attendance

During or after the service, use the search bar to find members.

  • Present: Marked in green.
  • Excused: Use for members who informed you they'll be away.
  • Guests: Add new visitors directly into the attendance list.

Review Engagement

After the event, check the Engagement Report. Look for "Missing in Action" members who have missed more than 3 consecutive services.

Engagement Reports

Engagement reports transform numbers into actionable ministry:

  • Missing in Action (MIA): A list of members who haven't attended in X weeks. Pastoral teams should prioritize these people for follow-up calls.
  • Top 100 Attenders: Recognizing your most consistent "Pillars" of the church.
  • Seasonal Trends: Graphs that show how attendance fluctuates during holidays or special events.

Using QR Code Check-ins (Beta)

For larger churches, you can enable QR Check-ins. This allows members to scan their digital ID at the entrance, automatically marking them as present and reducing lines at the welcome desk.
